Renewal Falls Recovery Center is seeking Registered Nurses (RNs) to join our growing team in Cedar Falls, Iowa. In this role, you’ll provide hands-on nursing care to individuals receiving treatment for substance use disorders while working alongside a collaborative team of medical, clinical, and behavioral health professionals.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care to adults receiving substance use disorder treatment.

• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with provider orders and established nursing standards.

• Complete nursing assessments and monitor patients for changes in physical, behavioral, and psychiatric condition.

• Monitor and support patients experiencing withdrawal and communicate changes in condition to medical providers.

• Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, and the interdisciplinary treatment team to coordinate patient care.

• Complete nursing components of new patient admissions, including assessments, medication reconciliation, provider orders, and orientation.

• Maintain accurate medication administration records (MARs) and follow medication-management and controlled-substance procedures.

• Document assessments, interventions, patient responses, and provider communications accurately and timely in the electronic medical record.

• Educate patients regarding medications, treatment, health conditions, withdrawal symptoms, and recovery.

• Respond appropriately to medical and psychiatric emergencies.

• Coordinate laboratory services, pharmacy needs, outside medical appointments, and hospital transfers when necessary.

• Participate in treatment and discharge planning to support continuity of care.

• Maintain patient confidentiality and appropriate professional boundaries.

• Follow organizational policies, infection-control practices, regulatory requirements, and accreditation standards.

• Support additional nursing responsibilities and projects as needed.

You are comfortable working in a fast-paced behavioral health environment, communicate well with an interdisciplinary team, and can balance clinical judgment with empathy and professionalism.

REQUIREMENTS

• Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Iowa required.

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.

• BSN preferred.

• Two or more years of nursing experience preferred.

• Behavioral health, substance use disorder treatment, detoxification, residential treatment, psychiatric, or acute-care experience strongly preferred.

• Current CPR/BLS certification or ability to obtain required certification within 30 days of hire.

• Ability to work three 12-hour shifts, including the assigned day or night schedule.

WORK CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This position works in an inpatient behavioral health treatment environment and may involve exposure to infectious conditions, patients experiencing withdrawal, emotional distress, or behavioral escalation.

The position requires frequent standing, walking, sitting, bending, and repetitive movements. Team members must be able to lift or move up to 10 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally, with or without reasonable accommodation.
