About this role
This position is a full time, school year, benefits-eligible position. Special Knowledge / Skills: The ability to create and maintain positive relations with students, school personnel, parents, and citizens, and to collaborate with the appropriate stakeholders to maintain high quality of services. This is not an inclusive listing: 1. Implement instruction from planned objectives. 2. Diagnosing and prescribing learning activities appropriate for the individual child. 3. Evaluates pupil's academic and social growth, keeps appropriate records, and prepares progress reports. 4. Maintaining communication with parents regarding student progress, both formally and through periodic reports and conferences. 5. To perform necessary non-teaching duties essential to the day-to-day operation of the school. 6. Maintain a professional working relationship with all staff members. 7. Assume responsibility for developing good public relations with members of the community. 8. Identifies pupil needs and cooperates with other professional staff members in assessing and helping pupils solve health, attitude, and learning problems. 9. Participates in curriculum development programs as necessary. 10. Participates in faculty committees and sponsorship of pupil activities. 11. Maintains professional competence through in-service education activities provided by the distinct and self-selected professional growth activities.
Must hold or be in the process of obtaining a Maine certification as an Elementary Classroom Teacher and an approved CHRC at time of hire.
