Johnston Elementary Custodian: Maquoketa Valley Community School District is seeking a day custodian at Johnston Elementary for the 2026/27 school year. Candidates for this position will also have to drive a daily bus route. Maquoketa Valley CSD is located in Northeast Iowa, just minutes from beautiful Lake Delhi. Applications open until filled. Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, and floors. Empty trash cans and replace liners. Clean and disinfect surfaces, including desks, chairs, and doorknobs. Dust and clean windows, blinds, and other fixtures. Maintain cleanliness in common areas such as hallways, cafeterias, and playgrounds. Minor Repairs: Perform minor repairs on fixtures, equipment, and furniture. Report major maintenance or repair needs to the appropriate personnel. Groundskeeping: Maintain outdoor areas, including playgrounds, walkways, and parking lots. Remove litter and debris from school grounds. Ensure outdoor equipment is clean and safe. Safety and Security: Lock and unlock school buildings and rooms as required. Monitor and report any safety hazards or suspicious activities. Follow safety protocols and emergency procedures. Inventory and Supplies: Maintain an inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment. Replenish supplies as needed and inform management when new supplies are required. Collaboration: Work closely with school staff to ensure cleanliness and safety standards are met. Assist with setup and cleanup for school events and activities. Drive a Daily Bus Route
