POSITION SUMMARY: Prepares, cooks, and serves foods in quantity at an assigned school site; assist in other food preparation duties as directed; maintain facilities in a clean and sanitary condition. REPORTS TO: Lunchroom Manager PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Prepares food according to food safety requirements, and records temperatures of equipment and food at time of service.
• Reinforces the practice of frequent hand-washing and takes steps to prevent cross contamination.
• Monitor temperatures of food to assure safety and quality standards are met; monitor water temperatures to assure proper temperature for sanitizing.
• Measures and mixes ingredients according to standardized recipes.
• Assists in storing unused food and supplies, dispose of unusable leftovers; utilize proper methods of handling foods to be stored.
• Observes and tests food being cooked. Takes the internal temperature of food to determine that it is cooked.
• Washes, peels, cuts, and shreds vegetables and fruits to prepare them for use.
• Serves food according to established guidelines and replenishing serving containers as needed.
• Keeps accurate records of amounts used.
• Cleans cafeteria equipment, utensils and appliances and stores food supplies; assure compliance with kitchen sanitation and safety procedures and regulations.
• Serves on line as instructed.
• Prepares and bake food for special events as needed; assist at banquets or special events as required.
• Operate Point of Sale software to account for meals during meal service.
• Assist in unloading weekly deliveries.
• Performs any other such duties as so designated by the Principal.
EDUCATION: Any combination equivalent to: high school diploma, G.E.D. Certificate or the District will provide an opportunity by the District upon employment to obtain a High School Equivalency Diploma at no cost to the employee. EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Classified Personnel. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Medium Work: Lifting 20 to 50 pounds occasionally and 10 to 25 pounds frequently as needed to move objects. Ability to lift, bend, reach and stand. Prolonged periods of standing
