About this role

Job Summary: To inspire and prepare all students with the confidence, courage and competence to achieve their dreams; contribute to community; and engage in a lifetime of learning by administering the district-wide data network, including fiber transport, servers, networked storage, and backup system. Description: The Network Systems Administrator is responsible for managing, maintaining, and administering the district's core technology infrastructure, including network servers, storage and backup systems. The role provides advanced technical support by troubleshooting and resolving complex network-related help desk issues involving storage, backups, and security systems. In addition, the Network Systems Administrator provides work direction to the Network Technical Support Specialist (TSS), collaborates closely with team members to ensure district service levels and commitments are met, and performs other duties as assigned by the Network Director. Responsibilities and tasks include:

• Manage, maintain and administer internal and external certificates, network servers, storage, and backup systems.

• Manage, maintain and administer active directory

• Establish and maintain troubleshooting and quality control procedures.

• Troubleshoot and resolve elevated/complex help desk tickets related to district network systems (email, wired and wireless network, servers, storage, backups and internet filtering)

• Remain current in software and hardware upgrades and technology advances.

• Collaborate with teammates to ensure all district service levels and commitments are met.

• Perform other tasks assigned by the Network Director.

• Document daily activity in the appropriate work ticket tracking system.

• Provide basic to intermediate training on software applications; basic to intermediate training on hardware.

• Collaborate with Technology Integration in assessing needs; coordinating and providing training on District hardware and software.

• Perform other duties of a like or similar nature as assigned.

Minimum qualifications include:

• Minimum of Bachelor's Degree plus five years of experience administering a large enterprise network; OR ten years of experience administering a large enterprise network. Extreme certification or ability to obtain within one year.

Preferred qualifications include:

• Minimum of ten years of experience administering a large K-12 school district network.

• Experience configuring and troubleshooting Mitel VoIP phone system. Microsoft certification

• Learning new skills and communicating those to others

• Effective communication and listening (verbal and written)

• Expressing technical terms and situations to technical and non-technical customers
