Reports To: Director of Risk Management Duty Days: 238 Days Wage/Hour Status: Non-Exempt Pay Grade: AS03 Qualifications: College hours, high school diploma or GED Proficient typing and processing/computer skills Knowledge of file management systems Efficient use of 10-key, copier, fax Excellent organization, communication, and interpersonal skills Flexible in work situation Ability to organize, self-motivate, meet deadlines and handle interruptions Willingness to follow directions and work well with others Maintain confidential information Primary Purpose: Provide clerical assistance as assigned. Major Duties and Responsibilities:
• Receive and adjudicate Workers' Compensation claims.
• Investigate and coordinate compensability decisions with TPA.
• Coordinate modified and full duty return to work program.
• Organize and file with TPA all WC Administrative filings.
• Daily telephone and mail communications.
• Recoup over payment of Work Comp Benefits.
• Oversight of indemnity claims handled by TPA.
• Assist with the receipt and adjudication of property/casualty claims.
• Ensure all documents are scanned.
• Coordinate with Human Resources KISD Leave Program.
• Investigate Unemployment Claims.
• Ensure file documents are sent to TWC for hearings.
• Attend TWC and DWC hearings as required.
• Direct vendors assigned to WC cases for successful results.
• Prepare regular and special reports as requested by the Director.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director.
Equipment Used: Personal computer, typewriter, printer, copier, calculator, phone and fax machine. Working Conditions: Work with frequent interruptions, maintain emotional control under stress. Repetitive hand motions, bending, stooping, squatting, standing, reaching, prolonged sitting and lifting up to 30 pounds.
