About this role
GRANT FUNDED Primary Purpose: The 21st Century Community Learning Centers (Texas ACE) After-School Site Coordinator manages daily after-school and summer center operations for the designated RGCGISD Campus. Responsibilities include the design, implementation, and coordination of comprehensive out-of-school-time activities; close collaboration with parents, students, school-day personnel, and community partners; direct staff supervision; and day-to-day center management. Candidates must possess prior experience in program development or youth management, the ability to multitask, and a proven capacity to resolve challenging situations productively and objectively. Strong verbal and written communication skills with prior supervisory experience are highly preferred. Qualifications: Education/Certification: A Bachelor's degree and/or established, successful work experience in an educational, youth development, or after-school programming environment is preferred. Scheduling Flexibility: Must demonstrate a willingness and ability to work flexible hours, including afternoons, evenings, and occasional weekends as needed to supervise the center's operational hours.
• Clearance Requirements: Must successfully pass a comprehensive criminal background check and district fingerprinting process.
• Logistics: Must possess a valid driver's license and current personal vehicle insurance.
Major Responsibilities and Duties: Essential Functions
• Communication & Collaboration: Ensure transparent and effective communication with the 21st CCLC Program Director, building Principal, school-day personnel, parents, and students at the assigned campus site.
• Administrative Compliance: Follow the operational directives of the Program Director, campus administration, and center management regarding local district policies and grant procedures. Strict adherence to all federal, state, and Texas Education Agency (TEA) grant compliance requirements is mandatory.
• Safety Coordination: Report any endangering situations or immediate safety concerns directly to the Program Director, building Principal, and Advisory Committees. Actively serve as a collaborative member of the youth program site leadership team.
• STEAM & Enrichment Tracking: Develop and execute localized procedures to efficiently monitor student progress, engagement, and curriculum delivery in the Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM) arenas—specifically integrating hands-on learning with robotics kits, drones, and digital tools.
• Career Pathways Alignment: Support the strategic initiatives of Rio Grande City Grulla ISD and its regional partners to design engaging activities that expose students to workforce pathways, career exploration, and high-demand CTE sectors (such as health sciences and skilled trades) within the after-school setting.
• Stakeholder Coordination: Maintain consistent, professional communication, community-based organizations, and higher education providers (e.g., TSC, UTRGV) to ensure the continuous delivery of high-quality, aligned academic programming.
• Program Integration: Assist the Program Director and management team to ensure the seamless integration and cross-coordination of multiple academic intervention, High-Impact Tutoring (HIT), and enrichment modules.
• Data & Reporting Accuracy: Collect, verify, and prepare accurate student attendance data, baseline scores, and performance metrics for timely submission and state reporting.
• Operational Leadership: Directly lead, participate in, and accept responsibility for the youth program schedules and activities at the assigned campus site, maintaining a 1:15 staff-to-student ratio.
• Stakeholder Relations: Meet regularly with parents, students, and community members to solicit feedback and address programmatic concerns in a respectful, sensitive, and positive manner.
• Professional Growth: Actively participate in all assigned professional development, TEA technical assistance trainings, and regional grant workshops.
