• Previous experience giving academic support to elementary school students.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to develop and maintain appropriate relationships and rapport with students, parents and colleagues.
• Organized and thorough in collection, analysis, record keeping and reporting of individual and school data, both manually and through use of appropriate technology.
• Ability to support classroom teacher-based literacy instruction and/or math instruction.
Intervention Support Staff Job Description Preferred
• Valid Michigan Elementary Teaching Certificate with an emphasis in reading/language arts and/or math.
• Experience with implementing and analyzing diagnostic reading assessments.
• Knowledge and experience in providing support to math instruction.
• Demonstrated proficiency in usage and application of technology.
