POSITION Warehouse Coordinator/Delivery Driver LOCATION Nutrition Services SCHEDULE Hours/Day - 8 Days/Year - 192 6:00 AM to 2:00PM SALARY Level 1 Nutrition Services - SNAP Salary Schedule Placement is dependent on experience Pay is annualized over 12 months JOB TYPE Hourly UNION/CONTRACT SNAP (PSE) START DATE 2026-2027 School Year SUMMARY Responsible for transporting food, supplies and equipment between the warehouse, the schools and/or other district buildings. Responsible for warehouse organization, consolidating kitchen orders, utilizing online ordering system, maintaining inventory stock, coordinating deliveries to kitchens and turning in inventory reports. Collect cash receipts from schools and make bank deposits. Interact with kitchen staff, students, school staff and the public in a cooperative, positive and professional manner. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience in warehouse operations, food service, or school nutrition services preferred.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid state driver's license and annual motor vehicle driving record acceptable to the district's insurance carrier.
• Maintain avalid WA Food Worker Card.
• Successful Washington State Patrol and Federal Bureau of Investigation fingerprint clearance.
• Valid Washington State driver's license or evidence of mobility.
• I-9 Employment Eligibility.
• Completion of all district-required trainings within thirty (30) calendar days from the hire date.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Order, receive, organize and maintain inventory received in the warehouse.
• Load, transport and unload food and/or supplies using delivery vehicle, following a time and route schedule.
• Abide by established food safe and sanitation rules. Abide by traffic rules.
• Maintain communication and coordination with central and satellite kitchens to ensure accuracy of transport needs.
• Inform the Nutrition Services office staff of low or depleted inventories, damaged or inferior quality foods received and/or items not received on orders.
• Check that all equipment in the warehouse is in safe, working condition and notify the appropriate authority when repairs or replacements are needed.
• Participate in meal preparation, meal service and cleanup following established food safety/sanitation and program procedures, when needed.
• Accurately follow established management and accounting procedures for district, federal and state statistical record keeping, inventory management and payroll; submit reports within required time frames.
• Order and fill requests for supplies from kitchens, providing a legible record for inventory purposes.
• Utilize online ordering systems for warehouse inventory.
• Keep warehouse clean and orderly. Maintain a system providing for the rotation of inventory using the first-in-first-out method.
• Collect all cash receipts from kitchens and school offices and deposit receipts in bank daily.
• Clean exterior and interior of delivery vehicle and fuel as needed.
• Know and follow procedures, policies and requirements of the Nutrition Services program and West Valley School District.
• Assist in any special projects, catering and additional duties as needed and/or assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
• Demonstrate ability to read, write and communicate. Employee must exhibit ability to understand verbal and written directions and possess basic mathematical skills as well as ability to read measuring devices.
• Be able to lift, move and/or carry a minimum of 50 pounds without assistance; to bend, stoop, and lift overhead.
• Be able to operate district and Nutrition Services computer hardware and software.
• Operate fork lift, pallet jack, handcart and other related equipment.
• Be able to use both hands and stand for extended periods of time.
• Be flexible and adjust work pace to meet the demands of changing workload.
• Exhibit a professional attitude at all times and a willingness to work cooperatively with students, staff, co-workers, management, kitchen staff and the public in a positive and pleasant manner.
• Make independent decisions and take appropriate action while following established procedures and guidelines.
• Exhibit excellent customer service skills.
• Continue professional growth and development by attending workshops, meetings and continuing education classes to meet the annual USDA Professional Standards requirement of 6 hours per year.
WORKING CONDITIONS This employee operates the delivery vehicle under all types of weather conditions including, but not limited to fog, rain, hail, sleet, snow and ice. As needed, work may be required in a kitchen/cafeteria environment during the early morning to early afternoon hours. The usual hazards associated with cooking equipment, such as hot stoves, ovens, steamers and sharp cutting devices, are continually present. Frequent lifting, moving or carrying of a variety of items ranging up to 50 pounds in weight is necessary. Occasional lifting and reaching overhead, climbing on stool or ladder is also required. Bending, stooping, and standing for extended periods of time are required. Additionally, this employee spends time working on a computer to enter order, up-date inventory, check email, and other work related applications. IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR Nutrition Services Director TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT Salary and work year are determined by the negotiated agreement and the needs of the District. Verification of identity and United States work authorization must be completed before employment commences. The successful candidate for this position must complete a fingerprinted background check with the Washington State Patrol and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Employment is contingent upon clearance of the background check.
