The Language Interpreter will play a crucial role in facilitating communication between Spanish-speaking individuals and English-speaking staff, students, and families within our school district. • Provide accurate and sensitive consecutive interpretation services in both English and Spanish. • Ensure effective communication during meetings, parent-teacher conferences, IEP meetings, and other school-related events. • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in interpretation practices. • Adapt to schedule changes and be available on-call to meet the immediate needs of the district, schools, and personnel. • Build positive relationships with students, families, and staff to create a welcoming and inclusive environment. • Assist in translating written materials, such as forms, letters, and important school communications, as needed. • Collaborate with school staff to ensure a smooth interpretation process and address any language-related challenges. • Stay updated on district policies and procedures to provide accurate and contextually appropriate interpretations. • Maintain professional conduct and a positive attitude while representing the district.

• Fluent in both English and Spanish, with excellent consecutive interpretation skills. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build trust and rapport with diverse communities. • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively, adapting to changing schedules. • Cultural sensitivity and a commitment to promoting inclusivity and equality. • Previous experience in a similar role or a background in education or social services is preferred. • Knowledge of educational terminology and an understanding of the school system is an asset. • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines in interpretation practices. • Proficiency in using interpretation equipment and technology, if required. • Willingness to undergo background checks and comply with district policies.
