The Group Leader is responsible for leading the technical effort of their supported team. They will establish project plans that support their area of responsibility. They are responsible for ensuring that customer and/or manufacturing requirements are met based on turnaround time, product testing, and product performance criteria for all assignments. They will review and assist in the resolution of any issues pertaining to these activities. This position will have direct responsibility for the daily activities of all assigned personnel. Develop, train, and motivate team with moderate interface of their manager. Responsibilities may include providing formula feedback, performing short-term projects, and interpreting test results. Follow and support products transfers, perform QC testing, manage formulations. May supervise support level technicians on a day-to-day basis.

• Support development of new or updated formulas that require a professional understanding of chemistry, product lines, and materials. • Site support activities focus on support QC and formula transfer. • Formula optimization process works with process team to ensure the productivity. • Capacity of Formula management in ERP system and properly keep Navigator project filled with the proper KPI indicators like agreed with the regional team • Quality investigations activities to support ARC analysis. • Provides feedback, test results, and data regarding the formulation process and recommends modifications to formulas. • Completes a variety of forms and documents detailing test findings and basic project results; requires independent judgment within professional guidelines. • Ensures compliance with department policies and procedures and applicable laws, rules, and regulations. • Responds to standard to complex questions and concerns from plants, research technicians, quality control, and other internal parties regarding development and related programs and services. • Operates, cleans, and calibrates a variety of equipment that requires professional judgment and background; also utilizes technical or standard equipment during projects. • Supervise, mentor and Coach the chemist and technicians or support personnel performing research projects. • Performs other duties as assigned. • Develop the Local Team for technical skills and competences, drive the individual development plans • Participate and actively evaluate the 2 and 5 year growth plan for the lab.(CAPEX)

• Formal Education: Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math.

• Knowledge & Experience:

• Previous experience in a Coating Lab preferably in Powder coatings formulations + 3-5 years.

• Projects and team management

• Product knowledge and updates (Powder Coatings or Liquid, Powder is preferred)

• Statistics software (ex. Minitab)

• Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

• Navigator

• Product Vision / Optiva

• Design of Experiment

• DFSS Yellow or Green Belt

Mandatory: fluent in English language and Polish

• Technical/skill Requirements:

Required:

• Operating a variety of laboratory equipment;

• Ensuring compliance with department policies and procedures and applicable laws, rules, and regulations;

• Solving problems and recommending solutions;

• Prioritizing daily project tasks;

• Working with a basic understanding of the commercialization process;

• PC skills; Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); and other applicable applications;

• Communicating with co-workers to provide and receive direction.

• Travel Requirements: Less than 20%

• Salary range for this role is from 196k to 225k PLN yearly (depending on experience)
