Job Summary We are seeking a Software Engineer with experience building scalable applications, microservices, and data-driven solutions. In this role, you will design, develop, test, and operate cloud-native services that support OCI Deployment Platform. You will contribute to distributed systems and analytics platforms that process large volumes of cloud infrastructure data and deliver reliable insights to OCI customers. You will work closely with software engineers, technical leads, product managers, architects, and other cross-functional partners to translate requirements into secure, maintainable, and high-quality software. You will also participate in design discussions, code reviews, testing, deployment, and production support throughout the software development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable cloud-native applications, microservices, and data-processing components.
• Contribute to distributed systems that process cloud resource, configuration, and relationship data.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and architects to understand technical requirements and implement reliable software solutions.
• Write clean, secure, maintainable, and well-tested code using established engineering standards and best practices.
• Participate in technical design discussions, code reviews, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
• Build and maintain REST APIs, automated tests, deployment pipelines, monitoring, and operational tooling.
• Investigate production issues, identify root causes, and implement fixes that improve system reliability and performance.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, engineers, and other stakeholders to deliver customer-focused capabilities.
Qualifications and Skills Mandatory Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 3 years of software engineering experience developing and supporting production applications.
• Proficiency in Java and experience applying object-oriented programming and software design principles.
• Experience developing, deploying, or supporting microservices and REST-based applications.
• Understanding of distributed-system concepts, including scalability, availability, fault tolerance, and performance.
• Experience developing applications on OCI, AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, or another cloud platform.
• Familiarity with containers and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with source control, automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and common DevOps practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot software and production issues.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a cross-functional team.
Good-to-Have Qualifications
• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Experience working with OCI services or other cloud infrastructure platforms.
• Familiarity with large-scale data-processing frameworks, event-driven architectures, or streaming technologies.
• Experience with observability tools, including logging, metrics, tracing, dashboards, and alerting.
• Exposure to cloud inventory, configuration management, capacity planning, forecasting, or infrastructure analytics.
• Familiarity with AI- or machine-learning-enabled applications and recommendation systems.
• Understanding of secure coding practices and cloud security fundamentals.
