About this role
Located in Ghana, this position helps provide and maintain facilities which give Church members places where they can work, worship, teach, learn, pray together, make and renew covenants, and receive sacred ordinances. Each Church facility that is built and/or maintained should 1) Provide a spiritual setting for members to worship, and 2) Present an image of reverence and dignity in the community.
• Cleans offices, restrooms, public areas, etc., as instructed, including fixtures such as sinks, toilets, tubs, showers, mirrors, air vents, furniture, equipment, windowsills, walls, etc. • Operates mechanized cleaning equipment, such as vacuums, buffers, large scrubbers and sweepers, and extraction equipment. • Sanitizes areas, furnishings, or fixtures as instructed. • Mops wet or damp floors. • Dusts or polishes furnishings, light fixtures, windowsills, wood paneling, etc. • Spot cleans carpets, rugs, and upholstery. • Disposes of trash, waste, and other materials. • Performs emergency cleanups including floods, bodily fluids, spills, etc. • Restocks supplies. • Moves furniture, supplies, and miscellaneous equipment. • Remove leaves. • Be available for on-call responsibilities as required. • Reports safety or security issues and needed repairs. • Assists in setting up meeting rooms for special meetings as requested. • Performs minor repairs as needed. • Carries out other duties and attends meetings as assigned.
• Comprehensive understanding of custodial procedures, supplies, and equipment • Ability to independently lift and position objects weighing as much as 23kg • Ability to stand, walk, kneel, climb, squat, stoop, push, pull, twist, bend, and perform repetitive movements for extended periods of time • Ability to work with commercial-grade cleaners, chemicals and equipment such as buffers, carpet cleaners, vacuums etc. • Ability to operate basic hand tools and make small repairs • Ability to work in a professional manner with others as well as alone without constant supervision • Must have a positive attitude with the ability to work as a team • Ability to understand and write English for general communication, video training, building security, and safety • Capable of understanding instructions both verbally and in writing and able to ask clarifying questions as needed • Must comply with all regulations associated with the handling of chemicals • Previous experience or knowledge in a similar role preferred • May be required to work odd hours • Must be in good health • Must be an independent user of a computer and familiar with the Microsoft suite of products • Must be worthy of a Temple Recommend
