We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Senior Director, Head of Sanctions Advisory to join our Risk & Compliance team. This role is located in New York City or Washington, DC

• In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways: • Lead the sanctions advisory function and provide credible, timely, and risk-based guidance on sanctions-related matters across the organization. • Advise business, legal, compliance, and risk stakeholders on the interpretation and application of applicable sanctions laws, regulations, internal policies and procedures, and control design and execution. • Review and escalate complex sanctions issues, including customer, transaction, product, and geographic risk matters. • Support the design, enhancement, and implementation of sanctions controls, frameworks, and governance processes. • Partner with key stakeholders to assess emerging sanctions risks and regulatory developments and recommend appropriate actions. • Provide thought leadership on sanctions matters, including regulatory change management and industry best practices. • Assist with internal reviews, audits, regulatory examinations, and remediation efforts related to sanctions compliance. • Contribute to policy and procedure development to ensure alignment with legal and regulatory expectations. • Support training and awareness initiatives to strengthen sanctions knowledge and compliance culture across the organization. • Manage and develop a team, as applicable, while fostering collaboration and high professional standards. To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a sanction’s advisory capacity. • 12+ years of relevant experience preferred in government, a financial institution, or another corporate legal or compliance function. • Strong knowledge of sanctions laws, regulations, and regulatory expectations, including experience interpreting and applying them in practice. • Demonstrated ability to assess complex issues and provide clear, practical, risk-based advice. • Experience working with senior stakeholders across legal, compliance, risk, and business functions. • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills • Strong analytical skills, sound judgment, and attention to detail. • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment. • Preferred experience leading or supporting sanctions governance, policy, or control framework initiatives. • Preferred familiarity with global sanctions regimes and cross-border compliance considerations. • Preferred prior people management or team leadership experience. • Preferred Juris Doctor, advanced degree, or relevant compliance/legal certification is a plus.
