About this role
Key Responsibilities:
• Load and position coils on the uncoiler using EOT crane or coil car. • Verify coil details such as thickness, width, grade, coating requirements, and identification tags before processing. • Perform proper coil centering, alignment, and threading through the entry section. • Carry out end cutting, trimming, and joining (stitching) of coils to ensure continuous operation. • Monitor entry section equipment such as uncoiler, pinch rolls, leveler, and shear. • Inspect incoming coils for surface defects, damages, rust, or oil contamination and report abnormalities.
• Ensure proper tension control and avoid coil breaks or strip deviation. • Record production data, coil details, and downtime accurately.
• Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety guidelines at all times.
Skills & Requirements:
• Good knowledge of CCL process and coil handling. • Ability to operate entry section equipment safely. • Understanding of safety practices (LOTO, PPE usage). • Good coordination and communication skills. • Ability to identify defects and process deviations.
