About this role

Job summary

This is a full time role.

Oak House provides rehabilitation and recovery services for adults with complex and enduring mental health difficulties. Oak House has a supportive and motivated multi-disciplinary team that take pride in ensuring that patients have a positive experience during their admission. Being part of our experienced team would allow you the opportunity to develop a broad range of skills to support patients to develop or re- build their skills and confidence in activities of daily living and accessing community activities. We will provide you with training and resources to develop a long-term career, continual professional development and a range of support. You will be required to work 13 x 11.5hrs shifts per month which will include working; days, nights, weekends and bank holidays. Main duties of the job

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

Patient clinical record entries, and patient specific documentation.

Support the nurse in charge in completing delegated duties.

Maintain confidentiality, dignity, privacy and respect for patients at all times.

Complete nursing and physical observations of patients.

Supporting patients with activities of daily living including; personal care, laundry, tidying their room, shopping, cooking and budgeting.

Good communication and listening skills.

Ability to work well under pressure.

To work within a Multi-disciplinary Team.

Assisting in house-keeping, domestic, and food preparation duties.

Completion of required training.

Escort patients from the ward to attend appointments and community activities ensuring their safety at all times.

Person Specification

Experience Essential

Manual handling of patients, using lifting aids. Experience of working in a care environment.

Additional Criteria Essential

Qualifications Essential

Vocational qualification level 3 or equivalent / level 2 qualification in care and willing to undertake relevant level 3 qualification upon appointment. or equivalent qualification or experience. Will be expected to meet the Care Certificate standards within 12 weeks of commencing employment with the Trust Management of Actual and Potential Aggression (MAPA) training. I understand I will be asked to provide original certificates to verify my qualifications at point of offer.
