It all begins with the Receipt & Distribution Assistant. You are the first contact point of our department, you begin the process of the end user (the Patient) receiving the medical support they need, by co-ordinating the timely receipt, organisation and re-distribution of medical supplies. Working in collaboration with couriers and delivery drivers, the Warehouse Supervisor and Manager and our Racetrack Logistics & Materials Management teams across the Trust, this can be a varied role with countless possibilities to grow your knowledge and skills. This role is based at our Receipt & Distribution facility, at St James Hospital site. We are looking for two full time (37.5 Hrs/week) Mon-Fri 8am-4pm There will be driving (Luton van) responsibilities with at least one of these vacancies.

Main duties of the job The Supplies and Procurement department is made up of approximately 140 staff and the various teams are based throughout the Trust. (St James University Hospital, Leeds General Infirmary, Chapel Allerton, Seacroft and Wharfedale Hospital). The department as a whole consists of the contracting sections for both Clinical and Non-Clinical, e- Procurement, Materials Management (Supply Chain), Scan4Safety and ICT Procurement. You will be based at Dolly Lane, SJUH but you will travel across sites when required. At every step of the process, our priority is always our end user (the Patient) although this job can be physically challenging, it offers a great sense of job-satisfaction and our team members are proud to work for Leeds Teaching Hospitals. Reliable and punctual, with a strong attendance record. Good attention to detail to ensure accurate picking, packing and stock control. Strong commitment to health and safety procedures.
