Job summary
The Community Integration Lead will coordinate, deliver and evaluate a pilot programme to improve the experience, wellbeing and sense of belonging of ethnic minority staff at St Michael's Hospital and West Cornwall Hospital. This is a project funded by NHS Charities Together Workforce Wellbeing programme through Royal Cornwall Hospitals Charity. Working with the Clinical Matron, RCHT Ethnic Minority Network and Royal Cornwall Hospitals Charity, the post holder will build strong links between the organisation and local community partners to support inclusion, retention and progression of ethnic minority colleagues.
The position requires strong programme coordination, stakeholder engagement, data analysis and the ability to influence positive cultural change. Responsibilities include programme planning, reporting, partnership development and evaluation, while modelling inclusive leadership. The post holder will also support training, staff development and organisational learning, ensuring alignment with governance and professional standards.
Main duties of the job
The role supports the Trust's Equality, Diversity and Inclusion priorities and NHS England's Workforce Race Equality Standard objectives. Using data, staff feedback and engagement insights, the post holder will identify barriers, drive improvement and help embed culturally competent and psychologically safe practices across the Surgical Division.
The role aims to strengthen workforce inclusion, enhance staff experience and contribute to improved patient care through a more engaged, supported and representative workforce.
Lead the coordination, delivery and evaluation of a pilot Community Integration Programme for ethnic minority staff.
Build strong partnerships with local community organisations and internal stakeholders.
Identify barriers affecting staff experience and support actions that improve inclusion, wellbeing and progression.
Promote psychologically safe, culturally competent and inclusive working environments across the Surgical Division.
Use workforce data (including WRES metrics) to inform planning, track progress and evaluate impact.
Gather and analyse staff feedback to drive continuous improvement and co-production.
Produce clear reports, updates and insights for senior leaders.
Support the design and delivery of training on inclusion, cultural competence and community engagement.
