Working Part time: 34 hours per week
The post-holder will be part of the Urgent Care Endoscopy Admissions Team and will manage the day-to-day responsibilities of sending for waitlisted patients whilst maximising theatre session utilisation, arranging pre-admission appointments and dealing with patients who cancel or fail to attend in line with the Trust's access policy.
Main duties of the job
To work in conjunction with the Admissions Manager to monitor and manage the waiting lists in line with the Trust policies and procedures, ensuring that reportable waiting deadlines are not breached.
Provide advice, information, and guidance to patients and relatives regarding admission arrangements, pre-op details, and general queries about waiting list management.
To book pre-assessment dates for patients and liaise with the pre-admission as required.
Participate in validation of patients on the waiting lists and on suspension to maintain data accuracy as appropriate or requested.
To deal with telephone enquires from patients, internal and external parties etc. to resolve any problems, queries, complaints and concerns in a timely, polite and sympathetic manner, passing on any unresolved problems to the Team Leader and Business Performance Assistants. This will involve dealing with at times verbally aggressive patients and/or relatives due to e.g. suspected or confirmed cancer or following a cancelled operation.

Educated to GCSE level or equivalent NVQ Level 3 in business administration or equivalent experience
