Job summary
We are seeking a Finance Officer within our Financial Management/reporting Team. The job involves assisting the Management Accountants and Management Accounts Assistants in the provision of a complete, professional financial service to a range of Sites/Departments, providing timely and accurate financial support and advice through the provision of robust monitoring information.
The postholder will support the Deputy Finance Business Partner/ Finance Manager in delivering a customer focused service to budget holders of the highest possible standard and maintaining adherence to the Trust monthly reporting timetable, preparing monthly financial performance reports and forecasts, analysing trends and variances.
The post holder will assist the Deputy Finance Business Partner/ Finance Manager in ensuring the Sites/Departments can manage their financial position and the Trust meets its financial targets. This will involve a range of regular analysis work, supplemented by ad hoc tasks as required
Main duties of the job
Working with Site/Department Management to agree their budget for each year, particularly with regards to the validation of staff in post and the costing of staff
Assisting in the production of the Site/Department monthly financial position within monthly timetables, particularly with intelligence gathering and producing analysis as required
Supporting the production of robust and detailed year end forecasts in accordance with Trust standards and timetables
Preparing, calculating, planning and monitoring complex information (using Excel spreadsheets and other software as appropriate), ensuring the accurate input of data and coding of transactions.
Ensuring that that all relevant income and expenditure is accurately reported in the financial statements of the Trust in accordance with monthly reporting timetables
Supporting the service with changes and recruitment of staffing. This will involve working with the service, Management Accountants and DeputyPartners to ensure these are actioned, challenged and appropriately approved in a timely manner.
Supporting the service and the Financial Services team with resolution of coding of invoices where appropriatePerforming a programme of analysis work as appropriate to each Service and to assist in ensuring that the programme remains up to date, developing user-friendly reports with software tools such as Power BI dashboards, pivot tables, graphs and tables
