Job SummaryLead the maintenance team that keeps healthcare facilities safe, operational, and mission-ready. As the Maintenance Mechanic Supervisor, you'll oversee maintenance and repair operations, supervise skilled trades employees, and help ensure a safe, reliable environment that supports quality patient care at the Pawnee Indian Health Center in Pawnee, Oklahoma. QualificationsTo qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. Technical Practices Use of Measuring Instruments Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specifications, etc. (includes blueprinting reading) Ability to Use and Maintain Tools and Equipment Knowledge of Materials PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Physical effort is expended in continually standing, walking, and stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing and working in small or cramped quarters. Frequently carries, lifts, pulls, or pushes parts and equipment, weighing up to and at times beyond fifty (50) pounds. Work is sometimes performed on ladders and/or scaffolding which requires incumbent to work overhead or in stretched, cramped or awkward position. WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed inside and outside in all kinds of weather and is usually dirty, dusty, and greasy. Incumbent may perform work and is usually dirty, dusty, and greasy. Incumbent may perform work where foul smelling fumes are present. Incumbent has frequent exposure to possibility of scrapes, burns, various chemicals and injuries. Major DutiesAs the Maintenance Mechanic Supervisor, you will: Plan, assign, supervise, and evaluate the work of maintenance employees performing building, utility system, and equipment maintenance and repair. Coordinate preventive maintenance, repair projects, and daily work operations to ensure healthcare facilities and building systems remain safe, reliable, and operational. Provide technical guidance and training in areas such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, and building maintenance while ensuring compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and safety standards. Monitor work progress, prioritize assignments, manage materials and equipment, and coordinate maintenance activities with health center staff and contractors. Assist with planning budgets, preventive maintenance programs, service contracts, and facility improvement projects to support efficient operations. Perform journeyman-level maintenance work as needed and serve as the acting Facility Manager in their absence to ensure continuity of maintenance, safety, and security operations.RequirementsSelectee may be subject to a probationary period ESEP appointees typically serve a two year trial period U.S. Citizenship is required Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959 Possess and maintain a valid state driver's license This is a designated position covered by Public Law 101-630, requiring contact or control over Indian children.
