Job SummaryThis is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Serves as Deputy Inspector General with responsibility for directing the staff in the total management of the IG program including development of overall policies, plans, requirements, and direction.

Specialized experience: Have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal service which includes the following. I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service which includes work that involves responding to complaints; determining appropriate action for complaints; conducting investigations; and leading inspections. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11)
Major DutiesDevelopment of overall policies, plans and requirements for the Inspector General program.Conducts general, special, and follow-up inspections of command activities.Evaluates the overall operations of organization in order to determine overall effectiveness and command readiness.Prepares report of findings for presentation to the Commander, Fort Irwin.
