QualificationsYou may qualify at the GS-13, if you fulfill the following qualifications: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service: Serves as an expert on broad logistics support activities affecting the global deployment, redeployment, and sustainment of U.S. forces in support of National objectives. Provides direction to component commands for resolving complex transportation and logistics issues and process improvements. Represents an agency on transportation and logistics-related internal and external governance boards and committees. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Major DutiesAs a Logistics Management Specialist at the GS-0346-13 some of your typical work assignments may include: Responsible for directing, planning, coordinating, and providing management oversight of all activities relating to the planning, implementation, execution and analysis of movement plans utilizing a thorough knowledge of transportation regulations, logistical policies and operational plans. Develops position papers and briefings and ensures communication of information throughout the chain of command. Provides direction to component commands during analyses and for resolving complex transportation issues and process improvements that enhance the program area. Translates senior leader direction into appropriate strategic level content for JDDEB agendas, briefings, discussions, and decisions. Represents USTRANSCOM or Directorate on transportation and logistics-related internal and external governance boards, committees, and meetings to discuss, formulate and/or coordinate strategy, policy and procedures.
