AI Team Leader – Spain
VSN is seeking an AI Team leader to join our growing team in Spain!
As AI Team Leader at VSN, you will be responsible for defining and executing the AI strategy across VSN’s existing and new products (media, broadcast, OTT, etc.). You will build and lead a small, high-impact team of engineers, working hands-on as a senior full-stack developer while driving the architecture and implementation of AI features that matter to our customers.
This role reports directly to the CEO and will have a major impact on the future of VSN’s product portfolio.

The successful candidate will be based anywhere in Spain, working in a remote work model with a requirement to travel to our office in Barcelona on a regular basis!
What your day will look like:
Strategy and Leadership
Define and own VSN’s AI roadmap in alignment with company and product strategyTranslate business needs into concrete AI initiatives, POCs, and product featuresBuild, lead and mentor a high-performing AI engineering team (internal + external/partners)Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, Sales and Customer Success to prioritize and deliver AI capabilities that drive tangible business valueHands-on Development
Design and implement end-to-end AI solutions: from data ingestion and model integration to frontend UXBuild and maintain production-grade services and APIs that integrate AI/ML and LLMs into VSN productsWork as a strong full-stack engineer (backend + frontend) capable of owning features from concept to deploymentUse tools like Cursor, Claude, and other AI coding assistants as core instruments to increase development speed and quality at scaleArchitecture and Operations
Define the technical architecture for AI services (cloud, scalability, security, observability)Select, evaluate and integrate third-party AI platforms, models, and vendorsEstablish coding standards, best practices and quality gates for the AI teamEnsure robustness, performance, and reliability of AI features in productionCulture and Ways of Working
Promote a high-pace, agile environment with short feedback cycles and continuous deliveryDrive experimentation (A/B tests, fast POCs) and systematically measure impact vs. costEvangelise AI internally, supporting training and awareness across the organizationAbout You:
Must-Have Technical Skills
6+ years of professional software development experience, with at least 2+ years in AI/ML, LLMs or applied data productsA bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence or a similar related discipline is essential Strong full-stack capabilities:Backend: Node.js, Python, or similar; REST/GraphQL APIs; microservicesFrontend: React (or similar modern framework), TypeScript/JavaScriptDatabases: SQL and NoSQL; data modeling and performance tuningProven experience integrating LLMs / AI APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.) and building applications around them (RAG, agents, workflows, etc.)Hands-on experience using AI coding tools (Cursor, Claude, Copilot or similar) as a standard part of the development workflowSolid understanding of cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)Strong software engineering fundamentals: testing, code review, CI/CD, version control, security best practicesLegally authorized to work in SpainLeadership and Soft Skills
Previous experience leading a small engineering team or acting as a tech leadAbility to operate at both strategic and tactical levels: roadmap definition and hands-on codingHigh agility and comfort working in a fast-paced, evolving environmentExcellent communication skills in English and Spanish, and the ability to interact directly with C-level stakeholdersStrong ownership mindset, bias for action, and a focus on measurable business outcomesExcellent problem-solving and analytical abilitiesProven ability to work in agile teams and deliver in fast-paced environmentsSelf-motivated with strong organizational skills and attention to detailHands-on attitude with a proven entrepreneurial spirit and pace-setter traitsNice to Have
