About this role

Job Purpose To lead the design, development, delivery, and continuous improvement of the Lean Portfolio Office training function within Group Technology. The role is responsible for equipping Project Managers (PMs), Technology Product Owners (TPOs), and other stakeholders with the skills, knowledge, governance understanding, and tool proficiency required to effectively execute project and portfolio delivery processes. The incumbent will manage the training function, oversee training resources, and personally facilitate training programmes across project management methodologies, delivery governance, financial management processes, and supporting technology tools. Job Responsibilities Training Strategy and Curriculum Management Develop and maintain a comprehensive LPO training curriculum that provides a clear end-to-end understanding of portfolio, project, and delivery management practices. Design integrated learning journeys that connect governance, methodologies, financial processes, and supporting tools into a coherent training framework. Continuously review and enhance training content to ensure alignment with organisational objectives, delivery practices, and technology changes. Simplify complex concepts and processes into effective learning experiences. Training Delivery and Facilitation Facilitate instructor-led training sessions, workshops, boot camps, and coaching interventions for PMs, TPOs, and relevant stakeholders. Deliver training on: Jira Microsoft Project (MSP) Project Management Toolkit (PMT) Agile Fundamentals Delivery governance processes Financial management and reporting processes Conduct Agile Fundamentals and project delivery boot camps. Measure training effectiveness and implement continuous improvements based on participant feedback and performance outcomes. Delivery Process and Governance Training Train stakeholders on project lifecycle processes and governance requirements. Ensure understanding of portfolio, feasibility, planning, execution, and delivery controls. Provide guidance on compliance requirements, delivery standards, artefact management, approvals, and governance documentation. Support effective adoption of organisational delivery methodologies. Financial Management Training Develop and facilitate training relating to project financial management practices. Train stakeholders on budgeting, financial reporting, portfolio financial controls, and related governance requirements. Ensure understanding of financial planning, expenditure management, and reporting obligations. Stakeholder Engagement and Coaching Partner with business and technology stakeholders to identify capability gaps and training needs. Provide coaching and support to project professionals and delivery teams. Act as a trusted advisor on project management tools, governance practices, and delivery methodologies. Promote a culture of continuous learning and capability development. Team Leadership and People Management Lead and manage the LPO training function. Provide leadership, coaching, mentoring, and performance management to direct reports. Support the professional development of trainers and training coordinators. Build succession and capability plans for the training team. Operational and Functional Management Manage the training budget and ensure effective utilisation of resources. Monitor training performance metrics and report on capability development outcomes. Ensure compliance with organisational governance, risk management, and audit requirements. Manage risks within the training function and address overdue risk actions and compliance findings. Deliver agreed business commitments and service levels. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree or equivalent tertiary qualification. Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification or equivalent project management certification. Preferred Qualification Agile certification (e.g., Agile Fundamentals, Scrum, SAFe, Agile Practitioner or equivalent). Learning and Development, Facilitation, or Adult Education certification. Change Management certification (advantageous). Minimum Experience Level 7+ years' experience in project management, programme management, portfolio management, learning and development, or a related field. Proven experience delivering training programmes to professional and technical audiences. Experience facilitating project management, agile, governance, or technology-related training. Experience managing and developing teams. Experience managing budgets and operational performance.
