About the Role Alignment Growth is looking for an entrepreneurial, high energy investment professional with a genuine passion for video games and an interest in the broader media and entertainment sector to join our growing team. As a Vice President, you will lead deal execution and underwriting across new investments, support portfolio company initiatives, and contribute to the firm’s overall gaming investment strategy. You will take ownership of diligence workstreams, financial modeling, valuation analysis, and Investment Committee presentations. You will also partner closely with our Managing Directors and Partners to evaluate opportunities, contribute to deal sourcing, and help shape the firm’s investment strategy across both gaming and the broader media and entertainment ecosystem. You will manage deal teams, interact with outsourced service providers, mentor junior professionals, and support our portfolio companies and industry research. WHO YOU ARE 5 - 9 years of relevant professional experience in private equity, growth equity, corporate development, or venture capital with direct ownership of investment models and underwriting; prior experience in investment banking a plus Demonstrated success executing investments and managing complex transaction processes Proven ability to lead cross-functional deal teams and manage and develop junior professionals Strong investment judgment with the ability to form, articulate, and defend views in dynamic situations to investors and founders alike High degree of personal integrity, intellectual rigor, and a collaborative, team-first mindset Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including preparing and presenting materials for Investment Committees and senior executives Strong accounting, financial modeling, analytical and problem-solving skills High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint MBA or other advanced degree is a plus, but not required WHAT YOU'LL OWN Lead deal execution, including managing diligence workstreams, financial analysis, legal documentation, and coordination with management teams and advisors Partner with Managing Directors and Partners to evaluate investment opportunities, develop theses, and drive decision-making Supervise and mentor Associates and Analysts ensuring that deliverables meet the firm’s high standards Help build thoughtful Investment Committee materials and present findings with clarity and conviction Source new investment opportunities through networking, research, and thesis development Engage with founders, executives, bankers, and industry participants to support both sourcing and diligence Explore emerging investment themes and proactively identify trends in gaming, media, and entertainment Support Alignment Growth’s portfolio companies through cross-functional strategic projects LOCATION, COMPENSATION, AND BENEFITS This is a full-time, in-person position based in Alignment Growth’s Los Angeles office centrally located on Santa Monica’s Third Street Promenade. You’ll join a close-knit, rapidly growing team looking to build and define AGM’s West Coast hub alongside collaborators who are equally passionate about the space – with relevant founders and operators right in the neighborhood.
