This is an exciting time at Enovix! We are looking for experienced candidates to help support our new lithium-ion battery production facility in Penang, Malaysia for commercialization of our 3D Silicon™ Lithium-ion Rechargeable Battery.
Job Summary: We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Group. The engineer will be responsible for designing fixtures and machines to assist battery development.
Responsibilities:
• Experience with mechanical design and analysis skills including statics, dynamics, kinematics, strength of materials as well as stress and thermal analysis
• Detailed knowledge of common automation components (motors, bearings, gearboxes, pneumatics, gas and water components, frame types, sheet metal and other enclosure materials, etc.) is required
• Work closely with process development engineers to understand requirements and develop robust and reliable manufacturing process equipment.
• Plan, conceptualize, and create mechanical designs for manufacturing automation equipment, including scope development, prototyping, and fabrication.
• Develop testing processes, and perform testing and validation of new designs
• Ensure deliverables, maintain safe machine design standards, and meet regulatory compliance requirements
• Perform engineering calculations to support design work
• Create and review concept development, system architecture design, assembly & technical drawings, bill of materials, and specifications using computer software
• Support pilot and production of final product by troubleshooting process and component problems
• Provide engineering support to Manufacturing, Procurement, and Test Engineering to facilitate transfer of designs to production
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams, and work with vendors and contractors
• Provide detailed documentation to track project development and design process
• Comfortable operating test, measurement and basic machine shop equipment
• Research and stay current with core technologies and the latest trends in automation.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or in a related field
• 2-3 years of experience working in engineering
• Strong Mechanical design and documentation using SolidWorks 3D design tools. Experience with additional CAD tools is a plus.
• Hands-on, practical engineering and problem-solving experience with a variety of commercial and/or industrial automation projects
• Firm grasp of engineering concepts, and experience designing mechanical systems and products
• Creative problem-solving and managing measured risk
• Experience using basic machine shop tools, mill, band saw, drill press, etc.
• Exceptional technical and problem-solving skills and reasoning ability
• Ability to communicate effectively and clearly
