Job Summary Amazon Now, Amazon India's quick commerce offering, is looking for a Senior Business Development Manager to lead the Grocery/Food charter. This is a high-ownership leadership role at the intersection of category strategy, P&L management, and selection development for one of Amazon's fastest-growing businesses in India. The leader will own end-to-end category outcomes — driving margin improvement, building a differentiated and regionalized food selection, incubating private label and premium offerings, and scaling instant consumption verticals. The role requires working backwards from customer needs in a sub-15-minute delivery paradigm, while partnering deeply with brands, sellers, pricing, instock, and tech teams to shape the category's long-term trajectory. The ideal candidate combines strong commercial acumen, structured problem-solving, and the ability to influence senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment. Key job responsibilities Key Responsibilities Own the Grocery/Food category P&L for Amazon Now, with accountability for GMS growth, contribution margin improvement, and input metrics across selection, pricing, and availability. Define and execute the category selection strategy — identifying gaps vs. competition, building a dynamic and regionally relevant assortment, and driving selection productivity at darkstore and superstore level. Lead margin improvement initiatives across vendor negotiations, funding constructs, pricing architecture, and mix management, delivering measurable bps improvement to category economics. Build and scale new growth verticals including gourmet/premium selection, regionalized food offerings, private label, and instant consumption categories. Develop and deepen strategic brand partnerships — driving joint business plans, exclusive launches, and brand-funded growth programs tailored to quick commerce. Partner with tech and product teams to shape tooling, cataloguing, and selection intelligence capabilities that improve speed and quality of category decisions. Author high-quality business documents (strategy papers, business reviews, leadership escalations) and represent the category in senior leadership forums. Hire, develop, and mentor category talent; raise the bar on analytical rigor, ownership, and customer obsession within the team. Monitor competitive and market dynamics (assortment, pricing, share) and translate insights into actionable category interventions.
