*Job Posting-* *Residential Maintenance Electrician*
We are looking for a dedicated, licensed Residential *Maintenance Electrician* to join our growing team who will be responsible for the electrical upkeep of our residential property portfolio in Winnipeg & Selkirk, Manitoba. Unlike new construction, this role focuses on the lifecycle of occupied buildings?performing rapid repairs for tenants, conducting preventative maintenance, and managing electrical turnovers for new move-ins. The successful candidate will ensure all multi-family dwellings and apartments remain safe, functional, and compliant with the cities of Winnipeg & Selkirk.
*Essential Job Responsibilities*
* *Service & Repair:* Troubleshoot and fix electrical issues reported by tenants, including faulty outlets, flickering lights, tripping breakers, and malfunctioning heating/cooling controls, hood fans and bathroom fans * *Suite Turnovers:* Inspect and upgrade electrical components (lighting fixtures, smoke detectors, and appliances) during tenant transitions to ensure units meet safety standards. * *Preventative Maintenance:* Conduct routine inspections of common areas, parking lot lighting, emergency exit signs, and mechanical rooms. * *System Upgrades:* Lead small-scale retrofits, such as converting building lighting to LED or installing thermostats and intercom systems. * *Safety Compliance:* Ensure all smoke alarms, carbon monoxide detectors, and GFCI outlets are tested and operational according to the Manitoba Fire Code. * *Vendor Coordination:* Work alongside external contractors for major system overhauls or specialized fire alarm testing. * Ensure high standards of workmanship and efficiency * Adhere to established safe working procedures and wear the proper safety equipment at all times * Adhere to company policies and standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety, and complete and on-time delivery * Ensure accurate and timely project close date; help supervisors to adjust working schedules to ensure deadlines are met * Perform daily maintenance and safety checks on all equipment and tools * Maintain a clean working area free from dirt and debris between tasks and at the end of day
*Job Requirements*
* *Experience:* 3+ years of experience, preferably in residential maintenance or property management environments. Level 2 Asbestos training & experience preferred. * *Certification:* Journeyperson Red seal electrician * *Knowledge:* Strong understanding of single-phase and three-phase systems common in multi-family residential buildings. * *Communication:* High-level customer service skills for interacting with tenants in their homes. Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with tenants, supervisors, and property managers. * *Tools & Transport:* Must possess a basic set of hand tools and a valid Class 5 Driver?s License with a clean driver's abstract (a company service vehicle will be provided for work purposes only). CSA Approved Steele toe work shoes required. * *Clearance: *Must provide a clear Criminal Record Check (vulnerable sector) as work involves entering private residences. * Ability to respond quickly in a dynamic and changing environment * Ability to lift heavy objects, walk, and stand for long periods of time * Ability to work individually as well as part of a team * Must be available to work Monday to Friday 8 am to 4:30 pm
