RQ11196 - Technology Architect - Senior 7+ month contract (168 business days) - possible extension REMOTE 5 days - Anywhere in Ontario Must Have: • Depth of knowledge in enterprise architecture domains including business, information, application, technology, and security architecture. Proficiency in architecture frameworks and standards such as TOGAF or Zachman. Ability to design, integrate, and optimize solution architectures with strong technical problem-solving skills • Demonstrated experience in delivering complex IT solutions and applications, managing systems integrations, and resolving technical and architectural issues. Proven track record in applying architecture best practices and methodologies • OPS Experience Project Description: A Solution Architect is required to assist the Land and Resources Cluster to update the Solution Architecture (& other) documentation for the Water Information System Kisters (WISKI) both for the existing application and a new Weather Module being added. Also, to update the Solution Architecture (& other) documentation for the Great Lakes Storm Surge Operating System (GLSSOS) application. The WISKI and GLSSOS applications Portfolio are mission critical applications utilized by the Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) Surface Water Monitoring Centre as well as the Ministry of Environment, Conservation and Parks. The new Weather will be used the MNR Aviation, Forest Fire, Emergency Services (AFFES) in replacing the Forecast Production Assistant an application Environment Canada originally developed over 30 years ago, though official support ended more than a decade ago. Under Ontario's Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act, and through the Lieutenant Governor Order-in-Council (OIC); the Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) along with the Ministry of Environment, Conservation and Parks (MECP) have responsibilities for water management in Ontario: • MNR has lead responsibilities in Ontario to keep people safe from natural resource emergencies; • including flood forecasting, drought response and stream level/flow monitoring; and • MECP for monitoring groundwater levels and chemistry under the Provincial Groundwater Monitoring Program (PGMN) program. Both Ministries require an information system to capture, store, manage and make accessible water data to meet their needs. The Aviation, Forest Fire and Emergency Services (AFFES) Branch provides forest fire management services for the province including fire management policies and strategies, fire prevention and detection, and the basic resources for managing forest fires; aviation flight and maintenance crews and equipment in support of forest fire and natural resources management, and other specialized aviation services, including non-scheduled air transport to all government ministries and agencies; and emergency management in response to forest fires, floods, drought/low water, dam failures, erosion, soil and bedrock instability, crude oil and natural gas exploration, natural gas and hydrocarbon underground storage, and salt solution mining emergencies.
