About this role
We are currently seeking applications for a Construction Labourer to help in the installation of Lightning Protection Systems.
The work includes:
* Installing lightning cable, rods, connectors, anchors and fasteners on flat and sloped roofs * Pulling / Installing riser cable in conduit / on walls from the roof system to the grounding system. * Installing ground rods/plates/cable below grade in the ground.
The way we work includes:
* Crews (Foreman and 1 - 2 installers) assemble in our shop in Dundas Ontario each morning and drive in company vans to their jobsites on a daily basis. * For more distant jobsites, crews will stay out of town over night. Meal allowance and accommodation is provided. * Work days are Monday to Friday
Skills/experience we need you to have includes:
* Valid driver?s license, clean driver's abstract and your own way of getting to/from our Dundas facility. * Experience and ability in working with hand/power tools including electric drills/drivers. * Work experience of 2 years preferred, preferably in roofing / landscaping or general construction. * Ministry of Labour (Ont.) ?Worker Health and Safety Awareness? training an asset. * First Aid and CPR training would be an asset. * High school diploma preferred * Good communication skills
Training we provide on the job includes:
* Trade training in Lightning Protection Systems to code standards (CSA, NFPA) * Working from lifts/elevated platforms * Job and project specific safety training
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $22.00-$24.00 per hour
