Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Tasks: Determine type of glass, frames and material required. Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements . Measure, mark and cut glass. Position and secure panes in frame. Prepare tenders and quotations. Assemble and install prefabricated glass, mirrors or glass products. Prepare shop drawings. Repair glass doors and other glass structures. Supervise other workers. Transport cases of glass. Estimate costs and materials. Glass cutting equipment and techniques: Computerized cutters. Cut glass plate manually (straight cuts). Edge glass plates. Laminate glass. Paint glass. Sandblast decal designs on glass. Temper glass. Equipment: Carbide and diamond bits. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding. Handling heavy loads. Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years. Other benefits: Free parking available.
