About this role

Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. Tasks: Instruct apprentices. Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions. Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required. Keep maintenance reports and documentation. Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers' specifications. Perform repair work on heavy trucks. Supervision: Heavy duty equipment mechanics. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Truck and Coach Service Licence (310T). Powered equipment repair specialization: Hydraulic-operated working attachments. Mechanical maintenance and repair specialization: Mechanical transmissions. Drive trains and final drives. Tracked vehicle suspensions and steering. Differentials. Brake system. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots.
