Main duties of the job The role of Unit Manager (Non-Clinical) at Abbey Court Care Home, part of Avery Healthcare, involves supporting the care home management team in delivering high-quality care. The responsibilities include leading staff to monitor care standards through observation, audits, and direct involvement. Moreover, the role involves ensuring the well-being of each resident by monitoring any changes impacting care and ensuring care plans are updated accordingly. The position requires acting as the primary contact for residents, their relatives, and visitors, as well as professionals involved in their care, ensuring requests are met, and concerns escalated appropriately. Experience is not required as Avery offers an induction and training program for confidence in the role. Desired qualifications include NVQ 3 in care, 2 years experience with the resident group, knowledge of CQC standards, and the ability to lead staff and manage in the manager's absence.

Lead with monitoring the well-being of each resident, being aware of any change impacting care and care planning and ensuring that changing needs are met, and written records are amended to reflect any variation. Lead in the person-centred care planning process by implementing, monitoring and undertaking monthly evaluations, completing care plan audits, developing action plans and being responsible for completing the action plans. Act as a key point for contact with residents, their relatives and visitors, as well as health and social care professionals involved in their wellbeing, ensuring that any reasonable requests are acted upon, and concerns or complaints are escalated.ABOUT YOUTo be successful in your application, you will live our values of caring, supportive, honest, respectful, and accountable in all that you do.
