As a Support Services Manager you will be: Supporting the completion of PPM checks on a daily, weekly, monthly basis and audits when required.

Main duties of the job The Support Services Manager at Cefn Carnau will be tasked with ensuring the facility is well-presented and safe. Working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, the manager will conduct regular facility audits, respond to maintenance needs, and ensure all facilities are fit for purpose. They will be part of the Senior Management Team and report to the Registered Manager. Responsibilities include managing maintenance tasks, coordinating with contractors, and ensuring the upkeep of the service. The role requires experience in similar roles, general building trade experience, and knowledge of health and safety standards. As a Support Services Manager you will be:

Supporting the completion of PPM checks on a daily, weekly, monthly basis and audits when required. Coordinating and supporting contractors whilst on site and completing of all paperwork and tool checks. Reviewing daily work sheets and prioritising tasks accordingly and complete as directed Providing out of hours assistance if required. Providing support to catering and housekeeping departments on site. Ensuring the services facilities, grounds and gardens are maintained. Developing the teams through professional records and appraisals as appropriate. Maintaining effective working relationships and to respond effectively to poor performance in team members. Ensuring new starters are entered onto the Key Watchman system and keys allocated as necessary. Supervising the routine water and electrical mains system testing, and where necessary implementing corrective action. Supervising Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) so that all portable equipment has a current test status. To take personal responsibility for ensuring that the work practices and the environment meet the requirements of Health and Safety at Work legislation and report all deficits to management. Feed back to SMT, CG and H&S meetings. Maintaining the highest standards of integrity when communicating with staff, patients, family, carers, and other professionals. Maintaining concise records and provide reports, as necessary. To be successful in this role, you will have:

Experience within a similar role General building trade experience Ability to paint and decorate, Knowledge/Experience in the use of hand tools Knowledge/Experience of electrical, mechanical, and building maintenance Knowledge/Experience of using computer-based programmes. Knowledge of COSSH, SSOW, Risk assessments, Health & Safety at Work Full driving licence Good communication skills with the ability to communicate with ward and department staff and visitors. You will be working at Cefn Carnau; a low secure/rehabilitation service for adults with a primary diagnosis of a learning disability who may also present with mental illness, personality disorders and an autistic spectrum condition.

The programmes provided at the service, include a sex offender treatment programme, anger management, trauma therapy, art psychotherapy together with bespoke psychological sessions aimed at people with learning disabilities.

Qualifications Essential

Experience within a similar role, general building trade experience, ability to paint and decorate, knowledge in the use of hand tools, electrical, mechanical, and building maintenance knowledge, computer program literacy, knowledge of COSHH, SSOW, and health and safety at work.
