We are seeking compassionate and committed individuals to join our Voluntary Services team as End of Life Companion Volunteers, supporting patients who may be nearing the end of their life.

This deeply rewarding role focuses on providing comfort, dignity and companionship to patients and reassurance to their families, ensuring that no one feels alone during their final days.

Main duties of the job

About the Role

As an End of Life Companion Volunteer, you will:

Offer calm and reassuring companionship to patients

Sit with patients who may not have family or visitors present

Provide a respectful presence at a sensitive and emotional time

You will work under the guidance of ward staff and the Voluntary Services team, with full training and ongoing support provided.

Each session will last up to three hours and you will be able to undertake up to two sessions per week on non-consecutive days.
