Job summary
Join our supportive, friendly team to provide high quality stroke rehab in at the Sub-acute Stroke Rehabilitation Unit (SSARU). This post would suit someone with a passion for aphasia rehab or wishing to gain further dysphagia and therapy experience.
Previous experience of working as a registered clinician is preferred but support would be given to develop your skills regardless of experience.
We are looking for someone who can make a real difference to people after stroke, loves providing meaningful rehab on goals that are important to the person and is a great team player.
We are dedicated to providing learning opportunities and regular supervision with our highly skilled team.

Main duties of the job
To provide specialist speech and language therapy assessment, diagnosis and treatment to adults with communication and swallowing problems within the adult SLT service and stroke team To work independently with the support and supervision of clinical leads To work on the Sub-acute Stroke Rehabilitation Unit To work as an integrated member of the SLT team and stroke team To work with members of the multidisciplinary stroke team, including nursing, therapists, and assistant staff To be involved in ongoing training to the multidisciplinary team. To be part of a wider network of SLTs in Sirona including peer supervision and support

Person Specification
Skills, Knowledge, Experience Essential
Knowledge of SLT theory and best practice Knowledge of standards and guidelines relating to SLT and stroke Competent in SLT assessment and interventions with a range of conditions Able to work independently and as part of a multi-displinary team Relevant experience of working with adults

Experience in stroke / neurology Experience of service improvement or quality projects Evidence of working in a rehab unit
Qualifications Essential
Degree/diploma in Speech and Language Therapy HCPC registration
