Applicants who do not meet the full criteria for appointment at Band 3 may be appointed at Band 2 and supported through a structured development programme including completion of required competencies and qualifications with progression to Band 3 subject to evidence of competence and service need.
Main duties of the job
Ward A10 is a 36 bedded ward and specialises in gastroenterology. It is a rewarding, challenging but exciting ward to work on and as a team we always provide high quality personalised care.
We are looking for individuals who enjoy caring for people and providing a first class service. You must be good at building and maintaining relationships and working in a team. You will be a tactful person who is confident but patient and compassionate too. Above all, you need to possess a love of working with people and want to make a personal difference to peoples' lives.

Person Specification
Education & Qualifications Essential
Maths and English skills equivalent to Level 1 Literacy and Numeracy Ability to complete written and electronic records accurately and undertake competency-based learning For Band 3 appointments: NVQ / QCF Level 3 in a health-related subject or demonstrable equivalent experience supported by completion of a competency-based clinical skills framework
Desirable
Completion of the Care Certificate or equivalent experience NVQ / QCF Level 2 in a health-related subject or equivalent experience
Experience & Knowledge Essential
Experience caring for others or providing customer-focused services Experience of working effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
Desirable
Experience of working as a Healthcare Assistant or in a similar care role Experience of caring for patients in an acute setting
Key Skills & Abilities Essential
Ability to communicate clearly in English verbally, in writing, via IT and using the telephone Reliable punctual and flexible to meet service needs
