Main duties of the job

To provide an efficient reception support service to the Women's and Children's Outpatient Department, undertaking associate clerical duties and maintaining a caring and compassionate environment.

Job description Job responsibilities

To be able to work on your own under pressure and take responsibility regarding patient care in the Paediatric Outpatient Department. To book patients into the Department. To make clinic appointments. To ensure paperwork for clinics is collated. To work with Department computer system, Lorenzo and Clinical Portal in accordance with Data Protection Act. Deal with enquiries, both by telephone and in person. Be available to assist with patients in the waiting area. Flexibility to cover annual leave and sickness. To participate in appropriate meetings. Ensure that confidentiality of personal health data is maintained. Demonstrate good communication skills during interview including listening and positive body language. Demonstrate an insight in the needs of the organisation and patients/carers and demonstrate the need for sensitivity and diplomacy as required.
