Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will be providing an important service for patients (personnel and their dependents), carrying out procedures and supporting patients to live healthier lives. This role supports the strategy and mission statement for Defence Primary Healthcare (DPHC) to ensure optimum health and wellbeing for patients and maximum deployability.
An important part of the service is clinical care including taking blood samples to be sent laboratory for testing, wound care and health promotion. The Healthcare Assistant also supports the delivery of the service by providing some administrative support, such as ordering clinical supplies.
They will demonstrate safe care for patients within the medical facility (MF). They will work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team (MDT) to meet the needs of patients, supporting the delivery of policy and procedures.

There is no requirement to deploy as this is met by our uniformed personnel, but you will form the continuity of care required by our patients when based at home.
