POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Day-to-day responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Boots on the ground safety management for all TLI and CTS locations
• Oversee safety aspects of orientation/onboarding
• Manage accident and injury registry
• Manage, track and report on Safety Management System (SMS)
• Responsible for reporting scores and all Data Q activity
• Act as owner of all Roadside/scale house inspections and manage all duties/responsibilities associated in accordance with Federal regulations with complete follow through
• Conduct new hire orientation safety training (Monday/Tuesday as needed)
• Assist with on call Pager Duty Program—ensures balanced coverage is met and maintained weekly/24-7
• Assist with implementation of Safety Policies to detect potential hazardous and unsafe conditions with appropriate follow-up
• Work in step with the Safety Director and recommend preventative or corrective measures relating to unsafe driving or activity, OSHA and FMCSA regulations, equipment and/or personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Responsible for managing and maintaining pertinent OSHA files
• Identify critical events and ensure proper follow up (i.e., hard break, stability event, dash cam, speeding events as directed
• Oversee Train the Trainer program
• Oversee Mentor program for new hires
• Oversee office associate safety training/Emergency Response plan
• Responsible for invoicing/billing as directed
• Answer Safety line and aid callers
• Assist with appointment scheduling as needed
• Performs Safety duties and/or other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
• 2–5-year experience in safety related field. DOT/FMCSA experience preferred
• Demonstrated understanding of truck transportation/logistics
• Demonstrated understanding of Warehouse/OSHA compliance
• Effectively copes with change and is energized by tough challenges.
• Strong problem-solving capabilities and timely decision making. Identifies options including the short- and long-term impact on business operations
• Fluency in English
• Solid customer service skills (phone, business etiquette, handling volatile situations)
• Outstanding communication skills (verbal & written); knowledge when, what & how to communicate for efficiency and effectiveness
• Quick learner, strong work ethic, adheres to work hour policies, completes work requirements daily
• Ability to identify numerous risk scenarios/take preventive steps/inform others
• PC proficient with the ability to navigate multifaceted internal databases
• Ability to travel to site locations and perform safety training/tasks (30-40% travel)
• Ability to provide on-call night and weekend coverage on a rotational basis.
