Position Summary
The Solar Installer III is a senior-level field professional responsible for leading residential solar installation crews and ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. This role serves as a technical resource on the job site, providing leadership, troubleshooting installation challenges, and mentoring team members while maintaining a strong commitment to safety and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead and oversee residential solar installation crews on rooftop and ground mount projects.
• Ensure solar systems are installed accurately and efficiently across various roof types and configurations.
• Direct the work of team members on-site and provide subject matter expertise as needed.
• Identify, communicate, and resolve potential safety hazards while maintaining compliance with all safety policies and procedures.
• Read and interpret blueprints, site plans, and installation documents to ensure proper system design and execution.
• Install solar racking systems, modules, and associated mounting hardware.
• Run conduit and wiring on rooftops in accordance with electrical and building code requirements.
• Perform trenching and other site preparation work when required.
• Conduct quality checks throughout the installation process to ensure workmanship standards are met.
• Maintain a clean, organized, professional job site.
• Collaborate effectively with project management and other departments to ensure timely project completion.
• Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
• Minimum of 3 years of residential solar installation experience preferred.
• Demonstrated experience leading installation crews and mentoring team members.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and technical documents.
• Working knowledge of solar installation practices, safety standards, and applicable building codes.
• Experience installing racking systems, modules, conduit, and rooftop wiring.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work, including climbing ladders, working at heights, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record preferred.
