About this role

As a Houseperson at Hyatt Centric Downtown Portland, you will support the housekeeping team in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of public areas, storage spaces, and back-of-house areas. You will assist in delivering supplies, setting up rooms, and responding to guest requests. Your role is critical in ensuring our guests experience a clean and welcoming environment throughout their stay.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain cleanliness and organization in public areas, hallways, stairwells, and elevators.

• Assist room attendants by delivering linen, amenities, and other supplies to guest rooms and housekeeping carts.

• Empty trash and recycling from public and back-of-house areas.

• Respond to guest requests for additional towels, pillows, blankets, and other amenities promptly.

• Set up and break down meeting or event spaces as required.

• Ensure proper stocking of housekeeping closets and carts.

• Monitor and report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate department.

• Assist with deep cleaning projects or special cleaning assignments.

• Comply with all safety and sanitation policies, including those related to biohazards and hazardous materials.

• Assist in laundry operations, including sorting and distributing linens when necessary.

• Provide exceptional customer service to guests and colleagues.

• Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure guest satisfaction.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in housekeeping or a similar role preferred.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Good communication and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to lift and carry heavy items (up to 50 lbs) and stand or walk for extended periods.

• Availability to work a 5 PM to 1 AM shift, including weekends and holidays as needed.

Physical Requirements:

• Frequent lifting, pushing, and pulling of materials and equipment.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, performing physically demanding tasks.
