About this role
40-hour compressed workweek
• Day Shift (Monday to Friday):
Regular 5-day workweek (Monday to Friday), or a compressed 4-day schedule of 10-hour shifts (Monday to Thursday).
Multiple schedule options are available, offering flexibility in start times (between 5:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m.) and corresponding end times.
• Evening Shift (Monday to Thursday):
Monday to Thursday, from 3:15 p.m. to 1:45 a.m.
Hourly wage ranging from $26.43/hour to $37.21/hour and Evening shift premium: $1.75/hour
Contributing in this role is :
• Performing drilling, coping or sawing operations (depending on the machine used);
• Calibrate the machine and monitor by taking frequent measurements;
• Classify, organize and identify parts by division in the work area;
• Mark and identify material as required: profiles, ID, dimensions, programs, division no., etc...;
• Validate production and enter work progress into internal system (BDL, Saw, Coping machine, Multi-torch);
• Optimize cutting of pieces from pre-selected material;
• Pay precise visual attention, note and report defects in materials, tools and equipment to superior and protect them from damage;
• Follow company quality procedures, work instructions or manufacturing standards;
• Carry out daily maintenance according to procedure;
• Handle any load over 50 lbs using an overhead crane or hoist;
• Knowledge of spoken and written French;
• Technical knowledge: rigging operations, grinding wheel and overhead crane;
• Teamwork, adaptability, organizational skills and initiative;
• Autonomy and manual dexterity;
• Any other related tasks.
What we are looking for
• Experience as a metal structure fitter (an asset)
• Vocational Studies Diploma (D.E.P.) in Welding/Assembly AND/OR
• Vocational Studies Diploma in Machining (Machinist) (D.E.P.);
• A minimum of 2,000 hours experience in the field (work or school)
• Spoken and written languages: French, English (an asset)
• Technical knowledge: reading drawings or technical plans
• Knowledge of imperial and metric systems;
• Good knowledge of welding machine, grinding wheel, flashlight, cutting torch and overhead crane, lifting, rigging, stacking.
• Autonomy, manual dexterity, adaptability, initiative, organizational skills and ability to work as part of a team.
