As our Night Stock Lead, you'll lead a team of approximately 40 union employees, oversee overnight grocery stocking and custodial operations, process payroll, and play a key role in delivering outstanding service to the military community. The Night Stock Lead is responsible for supervising approximately 40 union employees, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to company standards.
Primary Responsibilities
• Supervise, train, motivate, and support approximately 40 overnight grocery stockers and custodians.
• Work alongside the team by stocking merchandise, rotating products, facing shelves, and helping meet nightly production goals.
• Perform custodial duties as needed, including floor care, restroom cleaning, trash removal, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
• Assign daily work and monitor employee productivity and performance.
• Ensure products are stocked correctly, rotated properly, and expiration dates are monitored.
• Process employee payroll accurately using Microsoft Excel.
• Maintain employee timekeeping records and ensure payroll information is complete and submitted on time.
• Communicate effectively with Project Management regarding staffing, operational issues, payroll, and nightly progress.
• Maintain a positive, professional work environment while enforcing company policies and safety procedures.
• Lead by example through professionalism, reliability, excellent attendance, and a strong work ethic.
• Assist wherever needed to ensure nightly operations are completed successfully.
Qualifications
• Previous supervisory or management experience in grocery, retail, warehouse, commissary, or a similar fast-paced environment preferred.
• Experience with grocery stocking, custodial work, warehouse operations, or other manual labor is strongly preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel is required. Experience using Excel for payroll, scheduling, or tracking employee hours is strongly preferred.
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
• Proven leadership ability with the skills to build, motivate, and maintain a productive team.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Reliable, dependable, and dedicated.
• Positive attitude with the ability to lead by example.
• Willingness to perform the same physical work as the employees you supervise.
