About this role

JOB TITLE: SENIOR BEHAVIOUR TECHNICIAN

POSITION SUMMARY: The primary role of a Senior Behavior Technician at The Wellness Centre is to implement individualized behavior intervention plans under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) while also providing mentorship and leadership to behavior technicians and trainees.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor or Masters degree from an accredited college or university in a relevant discipline.

• Approved Behaviour Technician credential; either RBT or IBT in Good Standing

• Three or more years experience post Behaviour Technician credential

• Proven record of exceptional performance

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• The employee is required to have the physical capacity to continuously use his/her hands for simple and firm grasping and fine manipulation.

• The employee will be required to do the following:

• Physically respond quickly from any position.

• Walk quickly or jog/run short distances/Stand continuously for a minimum of 20 minutes

• Lift, carry and/or support 25-100lbs/Push/Pull up to 150 lbs

• Squat/Kneel/Stoop/Bend/Twist upper and lower back

• Evidence of all vaccinations recommended by the Cayman Islands Health Services Authority; including Covid-19.

• A medical note confirming fitness for duties may be requested at any time.

CASELOAD REQUIREMENTS:

1. Delivery of a minimum of thirty (30) direct client hours per week.

A / PRIMARY DUTIES

• Assist with developing, delivering and conducting quality assessments of clients accessing support outreach services (SOS) aimed at increasing adaptive functioning of children with a range of developmental and intellectual disabilities across a clinic, school and community.

• Assist with developing, delivering, and conducting quality assessments of one-to-one behavioural intervention programmes utilizing the principles of applied behaviour analysis (ABA) in clinic, home, school and community environments with individuals for whom there is a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorders or related disorders.

• Assist the Programme Manager and Team Lead as requested by completing observations (assigned), mastering and moving on targets in Rethink, identifying additional lesson options, summarizing assessment data in graphs, conducting bi-weekly data path checks, preparation of BIP stimuli, organization of therapy rooms.

• Support and mentor all RBTs and Trainees in such a way as to promote learning and teamwork.

• Conduct internal training of new RBT/IBT trainees and RBT/IBTs via role play, overlap, conducting monitoring of Google Classroom and ReThink Module course completion as assigned. Follow 8/2 - week training protocol to systematically increase skill set and arrange for overlap with suitable RBT/IBTs to generalize skills.

• Confidently assist RBT/IBTs by intervening, advising or supporting challenging behaviours when Team Lead or Programme Manager are not available.

• Provide services in Grand Cayman and Cayman Brac as required.

• Assist the Team Lead with research, development, preparation and delivery of internal and external professional and/or community based training programmes as requested

• Perform and complete other assigned duties as designated by either the Programme Manager or Director.

• Cover RBT/IBT client caseload during periods of scheduled or emergency staff leave.

B/ Documentation and Compliance:

• Maintain confidentiality at all times.

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records, including data collection and progress notes.

• Ensure compliance with legal, ethical, and funding requirements.

• Develop and submit necessary reports to clients, families, or funding agencies.

• Monitor sessions notes for Behaviour Techs delivering services to assigned clients, locking notes, and entering and completing billing via Dr Chrono

• Collaborate on best practice, provide support and identify needed staff training and development opportunities

C / Other Duties

• Demonstrate knowledge of, and support to, The Wellness Centre missions, visions, values, standards, policies, and procedures.

• Participate in and contribute to community information and education related to the vision and mission of The Wellness Centre.

• Participate in media or community training for the purpose of increasing awareness about the field of Applied Behaviour Analysis and the work of The Wellness Centre.

• Ensure all therapy material is maintained and secured at all times.

• Monitoring of all internal communication channels, including Slack and Google apps such as Spaces and Chat.

• Greet clients and ensure all pick up authorizations are in place before releasing a client to any individual collecting them.

• Aid the Director, DSS Manager and/or DSS Team Leaders in any way requested; general admin duties, observations, preparation of stimuli, organization of materials, schedules, or therapy rooms, etc.

Role Details

Location: The Wellness Centre, George Town, Cayman Islands

Hours:

45 hour work week with variable shifts based on needs of clients

8:00 am - 5:00 pm is our standard work week, flexibility expected

Salary:

KYD$45,000 - $55,000 depending on education and experience

Benefits: As per the Cayman Islands Labour Act KYD$45,000 - $55,000
