SAGKEENG CHILD AND FAMILY SERVICES (SCFS) is looking for a FULL-TIME Psychologist . You practice empathy, understanding and patience. You promote a safe therapeutic environment. QUALIFICATIONS
•
Doctoral Degree (PhD or PsyD) in psychology. From a CPA accredited university.
• Registered with the Psychological Association of Manitoba.
• Minimum 5 years experience in related clinical practices as a certified clinical psychologist.
• Demonstrated experience in clinical assessment, diagnosis and treatment of mental health disorders.
• Proficient in the delivery of psychometric tools and their interpretation.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and provide psycho-educational/skills-based training programs.
• Ability to provide compassionate and efficient support to children and their families.
• Knowledge and awareness of cultural and socio-economic factors that inform service provision.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a wide range of individuals/groups.
• Willingness to adapt to new techniques and best practices.
• Understanding of Manitoba’s health and social welfare system.
• Strong teamwork ethic.
• Ability to work flexible hours to meet productivity goals.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provides leadership and support to various mental health promotion and program initiatives.
• Provides a full-range of psychological services, including biopsychosocial assessments, test administration and interpretation, diagnosis, and intensive therapy with children and parents.
• Provides empirically supported behavioural parent training interventions for children with externalizing disorders.
• Conducts family-based interventions with parents and significant supporting individuals.
• Collaborates with other disciplines.
• Provides clinical supervision to mental health clinicians and trainees.
• Provides consultation to mental health and outreach clinicians/staff.
• Participates in all aspects of the care continuum and the child’s mental health pathway.
Qualified candidates will be required to undergo a criminal record check, child abuse registry check, and a prior contact check as a condition of employment. Sagkeeng Community members and Indigenous candidates will be given preference and are encouraged to self-identify.
