Job Profile

The Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Assistant will play a critical role in supporting the monitoring and data collection efforts for protection and health activities in Al-Hasakeh governorate. This position requires a dedicated individual who can work closely with the protection team, gathering and analyzing data, maintaining information systems, and ensuring the accuracy and flow of information. The M&E assistant will also be responsible for engaging with beneficiaries and ensuring their feedback is systematically collected and addressed.

Key Responsibilities:

Accountability and Complexity

• Data Collection and Monitoring:

• Assist in the systematic collection and monitoring of data related to protection and health activities.

• Collaborate with the protection team to conduct joint questionnaires for project assessments and evaluations.

• Regularly monitor and update field project indicators to track progress and outcomes.

• Information Management:

• Maintain the programmatic complaints information management system.

• Ensure continuous updates of content, track actions taken, and confirm the status of open/resolved cases.

• Maintain, verify, and regularly update programme beneficiary count information.

• Identify issues and bottlenecks in the organization of information flows within the Protection programme/MEL and propose solutions to improve data and information flows.

• Field and Beneficiary Engagement:

• Follow and document project activities on a daily basis.

• Conduct regular field monitoring visits to protection centers and complete monitoring checklist forms.

• Collect feedback and suggestions from clients to improve service delivery.

• Regularly explain the Feedback and Complaint Response Mechanism (FCRM) to beneficiaries, ensuring they are aware of how to provide feedback and lodge complaints.

• Check FCRM tools in the facilities to ensure they are in appropriate places and accessible to beneficiaries.

• Travel to other areas within the governorate as required to cover field-related tasks and monitoring activities.

• Perform any other duties within the scope of the department as assigned by the line manager.

Person Specification

Skills, knowledge and expertise required for the role.

Essential criteria

• At least a university degree

• Minimum two years’ experience in the same field.

• Good Experience using Microsoft Office programs.

• Analytical Skills.

• Excellent verbal, and written communication skills.

• Fieldwork Experience.

• Client Engagement.

• Confidentiality, Understanding of data protection principles.

• Ability to work collaboratively with technical and program teams.

• Proficiency in using mobile applications for data collection.

• Strong skills in report writing and presenting findings to diverse audiences.

Desirable criteria

• Experience in Protection, Health and Nutrition Sectors.

• Ability to work under pressure and adapt to rapidly changing environments.

• Understanding of project management principles and practices.
