About this role
Ornamental Concrete Products Ltd. (OCP) requires a Mason who will be responsible for assisting in the production of ornamental concrete products on a small-scale manufacturing site. This includes preparing molds, mixing and pouring concrete, finishing surfaces, curing, and handling materials. The role also involves maintaining a clean and safe work environment and supporting other general labour tasks as required.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare molds and forms for casting ornamental concrete products.
• Mix, pour, compact, and finish concrete in accordance with specifications.
• Apply masonry techniques such as smoothing, shaping, and finishing concrete surfaces.
• Perform demolding, patching, and quality checks on finished products.
• Safely operate hand tools and small equipment used in production.
• Handle, move, and store raw materials (cement, aggregates, pigments, etc.) and finished products.
• Assist with packaging and loading of finished products for delivery.
• Deliver products to job sites and complete on-site assembly when required
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the Site supervisor.
• Drive the company truck to collect raw materials and deliver finished goods to customers
• Manage cash transactions and process sales using a merchant machine
• Follow all safety protocols and company procedures.
Qualifications and Skills:
• Previous experience in masonry, concrete, or general construction required; preferably 1-2 years.
• Valid driving license for Light and Heavy truck required.
• Ability to perform physical labour, including lifting up to 50 lbs, is required.
• Basic knowledge of concrete mixing and finishing techniques is an asset.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
• Basic skills in verbal and written communication.
Working Conditions:
• Work is performed in a small-scale concrete production facility.
• Exposure to dust, noise, and outdoor weather conditions.
• Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required.
