ESTIMATOR Price the work that defines one of Miami's top custom millwork firms.
McKenzie Craft fabricates high-end, custom architectural millwork out of our 25,000 sq ft workshop in the heart of Miami, FL. We are hiring an Estimator to own our takeoffs and proposals: reviewing blueprints and specifications, generating detailed scopes of work, and translating them into accurate, competitive estimates. You will work closely with Project Management, Production, and the Executive Team to produce detailed proposals and present them to the client.
What you will do
• Analyze drawings, specifications, material use and selections, and scope of work, and perform quantity takeoffs
• Combine all material, labor, production, shipping, and other associated costs to calculate a final proposed bid price for the customer
• Prepare accurate time and material budgets
• Communicate thoroughly with customers on RFIs and clarifications
• Attend required handoff meetings on accepted bids to ensure efficient and complete transfer of information
• Review vendor offers and quotes against requirements to determine the most beneficial alternative
• Build relationships with key vendors, including subcontractors, suppliers, and engineers
• Other responsibilities and duties as assigned
What you bring
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Wood Technology, or related field, or 5+ years estimating millwork projects
• Proficiency in the submittal and bid document management process, including review of architectural drawings, drafted shop drawings, layout conflicts through the RFI process, appliance and equipment coordination, and mockup samples
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and spreadsheet software
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to balance multiple priorities, work under pressure, and hit deadlines

Salaried, exempt. Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer, with the ability to lift up to 15 pounds at times. Job site visits require appropriate attire, which may include steel-toed boots, protective eyewear, hearing protection, and a hard hat.
